July 8 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pmFree
Hillwalking Community Radio Group.
This is an events for all the family to enjoy. We are looking forward to meeting members of the Men’s Shed, Visitors to the Glen of Aherlow Caravan and Camping Park, local residents, tourists, local Walking Clubs and Women’s Groups. This is a low level walk lasting about two hours. The main focus is to motivate people to get out there and get active, have a chat and make some new friends. We also want to motivate adults who may have been active in competitive sports in the past and and who would like to come and join us. Starting out from Mooreabbey outside Lisvernane, walkers will arrive at the Community Hall in Galbally for free registration and briefing before proceeding to Darby’s Bed. Here Morgan Murphy will give a talk on the Megalithic burial tomb. On your return to the hall some tea and refreshments will await you and you will be entered in a raffle. After the tea Anne O’Donnell will give free advice on all the tips and trick for the budding hill walker. To end the evening we will visit the Men’s Shed to get an update on their activities.. Overall we want the visitor to enjoy a truly exhilarating outdoor experience at your own pace.
