Join artists and members of Mná na nEalaín Collective Sinead Williams and Lara Grufferty for an action packed workshop exploring collage and intaglio printmaking as part of the collectives year long collaborative project “Unheard Voices”. Taking inspiration from feminist protest posters from 1974 – 1990 participants will create and collaborate to create a series of works taking inspiration from posters of particular interest to them. Participants will use various materials such as magazines, photographs, paper, etc and combine them to create a visual story and unique artworks. Intaglio printmaking is a method where an image is etched of incised into a plate. This plate is then inked up and wiped so that only the recessed areas hold ink, creating an image that can be printed multiple times. This workshop is suitable for anyone aged from 10 – 100 and is a free event. We encourage participants to experiment, have fun and create a number of different artworks and prints.
