Meet the Charities Regulator - Good Governance in Practice
In Tipperary, we all benefit from the dedicated efforts of community groups and charities, from well-known clubs and organisations to the niche services provided by those passionate about a particular activity or cause. The impact is often unquantifiable but only made possible thanks to committee members, directors, and trustees who tirelessly give their time in an oversight role. Charities Trustee Week (11th-15th November) celebrates that tireless contribution, impact and community benefit of those who govern our charities. This year, Tipperary Volunteer Centre has partnered with the Charity Regulator and our Volunteer Ireland colleagues and is delighted to invite you to the "Good Governance in Practice" event at the Horse and Jockey Hotel from 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12th. This free event, dedicated to charity trustees and committee members, will provide valuable insights and practical guidance on the principles of good governance. You will hear from Charity Regulator Chief Executive, Madeleine Delaney, Thomas Mulholland, Director of Compliance and Enforcement, and those involved with Tippeary-based charities. We are fortunate to have the Charity Regulator organise and host this event in Tipperary. This is an excellent opportunity to learn from the regulator while also informing them of the challenges we face as rurally operated charities. Spaces are limited, so we strongly advise you to book early to secure your seat. Light refreshments will be available from 6:30 pm, and the event is scheduled to finish at 8 pm.
