Cashel Arts Festival
One of Tipperary's most anticipated artistic and cultural celebrations returns to Cashel this September, bringing four days of creativity, performance and community spirit to the heart of Tipperary. Now in its 24th year, Cashel Arts Festival runs from Thursday 10th to Sunday 13th September, transforming Cashel into a vibrant hub of music, visual arts, theatre, workshops, literature, talks, dance and family entertainment. This year’s theme, Threads, reflects the connections between artists, audiences and the wider community, weaving together stories, memories and shared experiences across the programme. Among this year’s highlights is the spectacular Flame Oz Fire Show, set against the dramatic backdrop of the Rock of Cashel, promising a visually stunning evening of street theatre and performance. Music lovers can look forward to Brothers Moving, the Danish band known internationally for their energetic street performances and infectious live shows. Singer-songwriter Pat Marnane will also perform as he launches his new album Music, Memories, My Piano and Me. This year’s Bolton Lecture will be presented by Irish barrister Caoilfhionn Gallagher KC, who specialises in human rights and civil liberties. The programme places a strong emphasis on participation and family engagement. From storytelling sessions with Niall de Búrca and circus workshops with Kate Mitchell to poetry and songwriting workshops, the festival encourages audiences to become part of the creative process rather than simply spectators. Supported by local volunteers, businesses and artists, Cashel Arts Festival promises to connect people through creativity, celebration and shared experience.
