Brigid's Eve Procession and recital
Join us on Brigid’s Eve to honour Brigid — goddess of poetry, healing and fire and saint of compassion, protection and community. Through procession, spoken word, music, food and shared warmth, we celebrate the living spirit of Brigid — the Brigid that lives in each of us. Procession of the community Sliebhnamban Brigid's Cloak from Clonmel's Main Guard to Old St-Mary's leaving at 5pm; 14 people will help carry the cloak, chant and play drums along with stiltwalker Dee Tierney and singer/songwriter Breege Phelan who composed the original song. Arrival at church for 5.30pm for hot drinks, food tasting, cross making and cloak display, followed by Spoken Word and Music recital by Tipperary based artists celebrating the spirit of Brigid, the Goddess of fertility & patron Saint of blacksmith, milkmaiden, biodiversity and fertility!
